Dear Parents and Guardians,
April is here and our focus as a school community is growth; academic, socio-emotional personal, and professional growth! We are encouraging every student to aim for 30 points of growth on their SOL assessments. While that number may sound large, it’s important to know that 30 points often translates to just 5–7 additional questions answered correctly. This goal is absolutely within reach for our students with consistent effort, encouragement, and support.
To help us meet this goal, our Parent Liaison will be reaching out to families of students who may benefit from targeted interventions. These supports are designed to provide extra guidance and ensure every student has what they need to be successful. We truly value our partnership with families and appreciate your collaboration as we work together to support student growth.
Students can earn rewards for attending weekly SOL review opportunities each week! 6/12 punches on their rewards card can earn them pizza and more as we incentivize their attendance in these review sessions.
In addition to our academic focus, we are excited to celebrate our students’ achievements and school spirit. We look forward to recognizing the winners of our March Madness competition at our upcoming pep rally, a fun way to highlight teamwork, perseverance, and school pride.
We are also preparing to honor our students’ hard work and dedication by celebrating our Honor Roll students next week. Formal invitations will be sent home by Thursday of this week, and we hope families will join us in recognizing these outstanding accomplishments.
Our halls are buzzing with students making their way to class ON TIME and our teachers have their iPads out with timely reminders that being on time to every period, every day, is most important.
Thank you for your continued support and belief in our students. Together, we are helping them grow, achieve, and succeed.
Finally, we hope to see your this Friday at our most anticipated event of the year...Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader!!
