Dear Parents and Guardians,
This month, we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with activities that honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities. We have also celebrated our School Security team and Custodial Crew with recognition for their national appreciation days.
Academically, our students have been hard at work completing important assessments, including VAALLS and Momentum Math. These tools provide our teachers with powerful data to guide instruction and support students in mastering essential skills. A huge shout-out to our Language Arts and Math teachers for their dedication and leadership during this critical time—they’ve truly carried a heavy lift in testing over 970 students!
We’re also thrilled to share that our 8th grade band students have an exciting opportunity to collaborate and perform with the Potomac High School band. We have also doubled the number of students participating in All County Chorus! These partnership not only enhance our students' musical experience but also helps build connections as they prepare for high school.
As we approach the halfway mark of the fall sports season, we want to recognize the hard work of our student-athletes. Special congratulations to our Varsity Volleyball team, currently undefeated with a 5-0 record. Go Panthers!
Lastly, we want to emphasize the importance of daily attendance, especially for our 8th grade students.

Consistent attendance is a key factor in academic success and a vital part of preparing for the transition to high school. 8th grade families, we need your support in ensuring your students are present and ready to learn each day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
