We are excited to begin another fantastic school year at Potomac Middle School. At the end of this email you will find a link to our Principal's Newsletter, which contains important back to school information. This year, we are committed to taking our learning, our leadership, and our community to new heights. Aligned with the PWCS theme of Launching Thriving Futures - ELEVATE, we have made the commitment to ELEVATE POTOMAC.
We will elevate learning by making it meaningful and connected to the real world. Through active engagement, hands-on experiences, and critical thinking, our students will see how their education empowers them to shape the future.
We will elevate our school community by fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and celebration. Every student, staff member, and family plays a vital role in our collective success with staff, students, and parents, working together as one.
And we will elevate Potomac by setting high expectations and supporting one another in reaching them—together.
As Principal of Potomac Middle School, it is my goal to provide each student with an authentic middle school experience. I want each of our students to be held to high academic standards, while being provided opportunities and experiences that are exciting and educational. This year, our students will be challenged academically with a rigorous curriculum and high expectations for achievement. We will also offer exciting opportunities for hands-on learning and new experiences that will ignite their curiosity and passion for exploration. Through in class assignments, clubs, guest speakers, and field trips, we hope to provide students with relevant real world connections to the curriculum.
Furthermore, we recognize the importance of supporting our students' social and emotional growth during this pivotal time in their lives. Middle School can be tough, as students mature and grow at different stages throughout the year. Our dedicated staff will work tirelessly to create a nurturing environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
At the heart of our school community are the 5 P's: Prompt, Prepared, Productive, Polite, and Perseverance. These core values will guide us throughout the year, ensuring that our students not only excel academically but also grow as respectful and resilient individuals.
Each week leading up to the first day of school, I will provide a Principal's Newsletter with timely updates and information to ensure all students are ready to learn on August 18th.
We look forward to partnering with you to make this school year a memorable and successful one for your child. Thank you for your continued support and trust in our school community.
