Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our Panthers have embraced the school year with a commitment to learning, growth, and Panther Pride. Whether in classrooms, hallways, athletic practices, or extracurricular activities, students are demonstrating what it means to start strong and continue getting stronger each day.

During the first week of school, we were honored to welcome Superintendent Dr. LaTanya McDade and members of the PWCS leadership team to Potomac Middle School. During their visit, they toured classrooms, spoke with students and staff, and saw firsthand the engaging instruction, positive relationships, and strong learning culture that make our school special.

Throughout September, students are participating in key diagnostic assessments that help us understand strengths, identify areas for growth, and provide targeted support. We encourage families to remind students to do their best on each assessment so we can continue to personalize learning and ensure every Panther reaches their full potential.

We are especially excited about this year's Back-to-School Nights, which will feature more interactive experiences for families than ever before. Rather than simply hearing about classroom expectations, parents will have opportunities to gain a better understanding of the learning experiences that we provide students each day. Teachers will also share important academic information, student work samples, assessment data, and examples of what success looks like throughout the year. Our goal is for every family to leave with a deeper understanding of how we work together to support student achievement.

• 6th Grade: Tuesday, September 15

• 7th & 8th Grade: Tuesday, September 22
