STUDENT WITHDRAWAL FROM SCHOOL

The procedure for student withdrawal is designed to facilitate a smooth and efficient process for withdrawing students and to provide you all of the necessary information for you to enroll them into their next school. Please notify the Guidance Department as soon as you know that you will be withdrawing your child from school. Only the legal parent/guardian can withdraw a student from school.

1)      Please obtain an INTENT TO WITHDRAW form from the Guidance Department. Complete and sign the INTENT TO WITHDRAW form and return it to school at least one day prior to the student’s last day of school.

2)     On the student’s last day of school he/she will report to the Guidance Department upon arriving to school to pick up the withdrawal forms from the Guidance Secretary. The student will go to each class, return books, clear lockers, and have the teachers sign that items have been returned and include a grade to date. Students must also clear accounts in the library, cafeteria, and with the school bookkeeper. At 2:30 p.m. the student will return to Guidance and receive a copy of the completed withdrawal form, class schedule, and report card to take to the receiving school.

Please call the Counseling Department at 703-221-4996 if you have any questions regarding student withdrawal.
