Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) high school and middle school drama students performed at the Virginia Theatre Association (VTA) Festival held recently in conjunction with the VTA annual conference.

Ronald Reagan Middle School students won a gold trophy for their production of “Halloween with Will Shakespeare.” Griffin Cox, Camille Johnson, and Francesca Zola were all nominated for All-Star Cast honors.

Gainesville Middle School’s production earned a silver trophy, and Derrick Kilmer and Mackenzie Moore were nominated for All-Star Cast honors.

Fifteen members of the Patriot High School Players auditioned for more than 30 different college programs and received multiple call backs, earning $900,000 collectively in promised scholarships. Seniors Jordyn Turner and Tyshae Gipson received All-State Cast awards.

Woodbridge High School presented an original student production of “Red Lipstick” written by seniors Leah Ican and Candace Todd. Kieran Weldon, a junior, received an All-State Cast award.

These outstanding results show how bright the theatre lights shine on our PWCS students.
