Hi! My name is Tricia Stone and I am a 6th grade Science teacher on the Tiger team. I maintain an engaging and thought provoking learning environment. In my classroom students are always learning through guided discovery!
In grades 6-8, students are encouraged to build upon prior knowledge and developed science process skills to analyze science topics with more depth and rigor. Students in grade 6 science focus on the topics of earth and space science. Students take a Standards of Learning assessment for the content from grades 6 - 8 in May of the 8th grade year. Students in grades 6 - 8 work with experimental design and inquiry processes. Middle school science courses are laboratory-based and students are actively involved in the collection and analysis of authentic experimental data.
