Dear Parents:

Welcome to Art! My name is Rosie Navarro and I will be your child’s Art Teacher this year. I am extremely excited to be working with your child and have planned many projects that will focus on self-awareness and internal motivation, the whole child that will focus on all learning styles, building confidence and character, placing value on social justice and current events, providing differentiation through accommodations and modifications, helping with visual literacy by journaling and practicing mindfulness, and develop skills while exploring different mediums and techniques. Studio habits of the mind and responsive classroom will be instructional tools that will utilized to help support our creative community.
A little bit about my background. I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. I graduated from T.C Williams High school and studied at Northern Virginia Community College-AA in Fine Art and finished at Virginia Commonwealth University-BA Arts Education. I have been teaching for about 19 years specializing in tutoring and mentoring, Early Childhood Development, Special Education, Curriculum and Program Development, Art Studio, and Pre K-12th grade Art Education.
I look forward to working with you and your child in making this a positive creative learning experience for all!

Sincerely,

Rosie Navarro
