Major Goals of PWCS Music Classes 

Major Goals of PWCS Music Classes

 Performance and Production. Students will demonstrate understanding of music through playing, singing, moving, and listening to instruments individually, in ensembles, and in large groups.

Cultural Context and Music Theory. Students will relate music to history and culture. Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of music reading, notation, literacy, and sight-reading skills.

Judgment and Criticism. Students will apply their knowledge, skills and understanding of music to make informed artistic judgments about their own creative work, as well as the works of others in all of the arts.

Aesthetics.
Students will reflect on and respond to the affective and intellectual qualities of music, while examining music from various cultural perspectives and artists.
