Greetings Staff, Students, and Parents of Potomac Middle School,

It continues to be a distinct honor and great pleasure to serve the Potomac Middle School community in its educational endeavors as Assistant Principal.  This will be my 25th year in education and my 11th year at Potomac Middle as an administrator.

This year I will serve as the 8th grade administrator supervising Language Arts, Special Education, and Teacher Assistants.  In addition, I supervise the implementation of our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports), Restorative Practices, and Student Engagement initiatives. These initiatives are very near and dear to my heart as it drives our school culture by promoting positivity and academic excellence.

Please encourage your student(s) to exhibit Potomac's 5 P's daily in all of their interactions with school staff, peers, and guests - Prompt, Prepared, Productive, Polite and Perseverance as defined by our school's behavior matrix.

As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, I am eager to cultivate and continue relationships with our students, staff, and parents. Additionally, I am overwhelmed with excitement, and looking forward to new, educational experiences and school achievements. It is my belief that all students can learn to their potential, given a nurturing, learning environment that is data driven. It is my goal to combine my initiative, experience, excitement and compassion to make positive contributions to students and the Potomac Middle school community.
Sincerely,
Latanya Haskins-Ladson
